Woman’s Health

Natural Hormone Replacement Therapy
During the past several decades, women have had no other choice but to use synthetic products for replacement therapy.  Most women taking these products say that they do feel better, but unfortunately, conventional therapy can cause many unwanted side effects such as bleeding, fluid retention, bloating, headaches, breast tenderness and irritability.  Today, women have alternative-natural hormones.

Natural hormones (NHRT area) are not herbal supplements, rather they are bio-identical in structure to the hormones that circulate in a women’s body during her reproductive years.  Natural estrogens, testosterone, and progesterone provide all the benefits of the synthetic forms only without the unwanted side effects.

Fifth Avenue Pharmacy specializes in compounding all the natural hormones in various dosage forms and strengths upon each individualized prescription from your physician.

A one-on-one consultation session may be scheduled by appointment.
Fee: $25.00    Time: Approximately 1 hour   Session includes:

Ø     Patient’s medical and personal history.

Ø     Pharmacist will explain benefits of hormone replacement therapy, how natural hormones differ from synthetic hormones, and the functions of each of the hormones.

Ø     Pharmacist will discuss personal goals for the patient.

Pharmacist will try to answer any questions the patient may have.

Specialty Compounding

Veterinarian Therapies
Have you ever tried to convince a Great Dane to take medication that he doesn’t think he needs?  We have several options that will allow you to keep all of your fingers intact. We can prepare a variety of flavors and delivery forms for each specific pet.  Among our patients are cats, dogs, parrots, macaw’s, turtles, salamanders, parakeets, iguanas and ferrets.

Neuropathy Pain Management
Gels and creams can often be prepared by incorporating potent medications that can be applied on the surface of the skin and penetrate to an affected muscle, joint or nerve.  Diabetic neuropathic pain and/or burning of the feet are one of our specialties.

Dermatological
We have been preparing dermatologic creams, gels, lotions and ointments for over twenty-five years. Our formula list exceeds four thousand combinations.

Fertility
We have over twenty years experience in preparing various hormonal medications to enhance fertility and/or maintain pregnancy.

Alternative Dosage Forms
Commercially available prescriptions may not always fit the needs of a specific patient.  As compounding pharmacists, we have the ability to prepare many oral drugs into a more appropriate dosage form, if the need arises.  Alternative dosage forms are prepared on the order of a physician to treat an “individual.”
